  • Gold Rush Marketplace @BellJar

    For holiday 2011 San Francisco boutique, BellJar will transform its gallery space into a special market focused on one of a kind and small batch, artist produced merchandise. The store, named “Gold Rush Marketplace”, will be a gold rush mining town theme with a modern, updated feel. Gold Rush will feature the work of Bell Jar’s favorite artists and designers from the Bay Area and beyond!

    Artists have been hand selected for the shop and include San Francisco’s own Lisa Congdon, Hannah Stouffer, Kylea Borges, Sarah Applebaum, Alissa Anderson and many more! Chosen artists will be exhibiting an eclectic variety of products from prints to yarn ropes and jewelry. Artists have been encouraged to play with the Gold Rush theme and, perhaps, explore outside of their comfort zone to produce something truly unique. BellJar has also invited Oakland’s favorite online artist shop, Little Paper Planes to curate a selection of their artists to produce objects based on a theme of their choosing.

  • ++Musical Chairs++

    Magic Carpet is a pop up gallery, whose first physical location will be 720 Geary, San Francisco. Artist and curator Aimee Friberg is working with musicians, visual, sound and film artists, producers and other curators to produce MUSICAL CHAIRS, a rotating exhibit of artworks, performances and short films all made within, or in relation to, the context of sound and experimental music. For many cultures, music is a conduit to religious experience, a spiritual connection, or transformative moment into a world of the unknown. MUSICAL CHAIRS explore this territory of the ethereal—by provoking cosmic, magical, and spirit based connections through sound and music based art experiences. Musical Chairs includes art / film / performances by Bruce Conner, Lawrence (Larry) Jordan, Randy Colosky, Soo-Hwa Yuan, Suzy Poling, Brian Caraway, Maximilla Lukacs, Danny Paul Grody, John Davis, Maxwell Croy, Bert Bergen, Rob Doran, Joshua Churchill, Morgan Sorne, Kylea Borges and Aimee Friberg.

    Performances will be held Wednesdays, December 8, 15 and 22nd. In addition, the gallery will be open on consecutive Saturdays in between the performances (December 11 and 18); visit the website for specific performance and artist site specific installation dates. http://cargocollective.com/magic-carpet-gallery-sf

    Immortal Gallery
    215 W 6th #116 cross st. Spring
    Los Angeles, CA

    ...The Immortal Gallery is proud to present, All Souls, a group exhibition of mixed media. All Souls is motivated by the many days, rites, and commemorations dedicated to the faithfully departed. Among other religious days, All Saints day, Day of the Dead, and the Ghost festival all have in common that the alive want to pray for those in purgatory and the veneration of the dead. This quartet of artists have taken inspiration from monuments to the dead (like the pyramids), the struggle incorporated into mythical art, psychopomps, and the items we used to give remembrance.
